As an immigrant from Ukraine, artist Khrystyna Kozyuk didn’t know many fellow artists in the
western suburbs or how to go about marketing her brightly colored abstract paintings.
Being an observer first, much of my inspiration comes from the world around us.
When traveling I find myself appreciating all that the new landscapes have to offer.
Recently, my time has been spent exploring different traditions and cultures.
I believe art connects people. My life – is reflected in my artwork and connects me and the viewer.
My idea – the art and the artist should bring visual information to our community.
My artwork – needs social interaction to reveal all the secrets inside.
CHICAGO — Last week, I suggested that this holiday season we make an effort to give locally made art
to the special people on our Christmas list rather than relying on discounted electronics
